Choose your driver source: SCCM Driver Packs or Latest Drivers

From build 10.2.4 onwards, the Driver Automation Tool lets you choose how each driver pack is built. Keep the OEM's SCCM Driver Pack — the Configuration Manager release refreshed roughly monthly — or switch Dell, HP, and Lenovo to Latest Drivers to pull the newest individual drivers straight from each vendor's live source: the Dell Command | Update catalog, the HP Client Management Script Library (CMSL), or the Lenovo System Update catalog. Other manufacturers continue to use their SCCM driver pack.

Intune can deploy drivers when they are packaged as Win32 apps. The Driver Automation Tool automates that packaging — downloading OEM drivers and producing .intunewin apps with detection rules and assignment filters ready to assign in Intune.

How is this different from Windows Update for Business driver policies?

Windows Update for Business driver policies control broad approval and deferral of driver updates. The Driver Automation Tool gives you precise, model-specific Intune drivers packaged as Win32 apps that you version and target explicitly — useful for imaging, provisioning, and known-good baselines.

Do I need Configuration Manager?

No. The tool supports Intune-only workflows. If you are co-managed, it can also build ConfigMgr driver packages from the same catalogue.

Which devices are supported?
