Lenovo Drivers for Intune — Automated Lenovo Driver Packs

Automate Lenovo drivers for Intune. The Driver Automation Tool resolves the correct Lenovo driver pack for each model from Lenovo's catalogue, downloads and verifies it, and deploys it as an Intune Win32 app with a detection rule and a model-based assignment filter.

Lenovo publishes driver packs per model and machine type. The Driver Automation Tool maps Lenovo models to the right driver pack automatically, so building Lenovo driver packs for Intune no longer means hunting through the Lenovo download catalogue by hand.

Choose your driver source: SCCM Driver Packs or Latest Drivers

From build 10.2.4 onwards, the Driver Automation Tool lets you choose how Lenovo driver packs are built. Keep the OEM's SCCM Driver Pack — the Configuration Manager release refreshed roughly monthly — or switch to Latest Drivers to pull the newest Lenovo drivers directly from the Lenovo System Update catalog.

SCCM Driver Pack

The OEM's monthly Configuration Manager driver-pack release — the broadly validated baseline.

Latest Drivers

The newest Dell, HP, and Lenovo drivers pulled straight from each vendor's live catalog, so packs aren't held back by the OEM's SCCM release cadence.

Update cadence

Re-evaluate Latest Drivers packs Daily, Weekly, or Monthly on scheduled builds — a new pack is only rebuilt when the driver set actually changes.

Which Lenovo catalogs does the tool use?

For a SCCM Driver Pack, the tool uses Lenovo's driver-pack catalog — the curated packs Lenovo publishes per machine type for enterprise deployment. For Latest Drivers, it reads Lenovo's public per-model update catalog — the same driver feed that Lenovo System Update (and the LSUClient library) consume — to resolve the newest individual drivers Lenovo publishes for each machine type between pack updates.

Lenovo packs are matched by machine type and are typically aligned to a specific Windows feature update, so a pack targets the models and build it was created for.

How versioning and update cadence are handled

SCCM Driver Pack: Lenovo versions each pack and refreshes it on its own schedule — typically about once a month. The tool tracks the published pack version and only rebuilds when Lenovo releases a newer one, so your cadence follows Lenovo.

Latest Drivers: the tool derives a version from the current set of newest drivers and re-checks on the cadence you choose — Off, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Within that window the existing pack is reused; a new pack is built only when the underlying drivers actually change.
